Overview

This intermodal rail storage yard expansion project added five new railroad storage tracks that expanded the existing railyard to 11 total storage tracks. Major elements of work included 38,000 feet of new ballasted track, 20 turnouts, one crossover, 43,000 tons of ballast, realignment of an existing grade crossing, construction of a new 380-foot-long by 86-foot-wide railroad bridge that will carry four tracks over an open water channel, railroad signalization, compressed air equipment, new access roadways, the handling and disposal of contaminated soil, utility modifications including new high mast light poles, and other site improvements.
